Policy Analyst of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Atik Mohammed has predicted that his party will win ten parliamentary seats in the Northern Region in the 2016 general election.
| According him, the performance they put up in the Talensi by-election is enough to send shivers down the spine of all their political opponents. Atik who is seeking to be the General Secretary said, Ghanaians are going to see a different PNC in the 2016 general elections. |
“Ghanaians will see a different PNC…we will win ten seats in the Northern Region” he said.
The Policy Analyst, speaking on an Accra based Peace FM Thursday, said the time has come for his party to have a strategic thinking on constituencies they spend resources on.
“The time has come for people to think strategically…You don’t need to spend much money on a seat you know you are not going to win” he advised.
Atik’s confidence came after the candidate for the PNC, Wombeago Namal Teng polled 6,838 representing 27.90% of the total votes in the Talensi by-election on Tuesday.
The PNC candidate was closely beaten by the candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Thomas Duanab who polled 6,845 representing 27.94% whiles B.T Baba of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won with 10,366 representing 42.31% of the total votes.
Atik Mohammed however sees this as a great performance from his party and further advised his party to throw their weight on candidates who are serious and determined to win parliamentary seats for their party.
