Source: Daily Guide Ghana - Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been asked “to fasten their seat belts because the 2016 campaign train is about to set off in full force.”
“Let me tell you patriots that the 2016 campaign team is more than ready to start work. As to when the team will be launched, let me assure you that in about 14 days time it will be launched to start work.”
“Let me tell you patriots that the 2016 campaign team is more than ready to start work. As to when the team will be launched, let me assure you that in about 14 days time it will be launched to start work.”
The former NPP general Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, gave the hint when addressing members of the NPP Toronto-Chapter at 350 Grand Ravine Drive on Saturday, September 27, 2015.
He said some members will be drafted into the team while others will be free to join to work hard to ensure that the main objective of wresting power from the incompetent NDC government is realised.
The former general secretary advised members to treat with contempt NDC propaganda that there is disunity among the party executives.
He denied that there is infighting in the party, saying, “if anybody tells you there is a problem in the party tell him there is no problem in the party and that all the party executives mean well and are solidly behind Nana Akufo-Addo to win the next election.”
Sir John, as he is popularly called, noted that Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2012 elections got 5.2 million votes, which represented 47 percent, adding that this time Nana is seriously working hard to win the five percent swing votes to enable him emerge victorious in the next election.
According to Sir John, Ghanaians are tired of the economic hardship under the watch of President John Dramani Mahama and want change of government, which Nana Akufo-Addo will surely deliver come December 2016.
He therefore urged party members to support the presidential candidate to deliver on his promise of wresting power from the NDC to give Ghanaians economic freedom.
