Source: citifmonline. com - The Inspector-General of Police, (IGP), John Kudalor, has assured Ghanaians that the Police would be free and fair to all parties and apply the rules to the letter during the November 7 general election.
He made the assertion at a Police meeting with the leadership of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], to discuss series of dialogues and activities lined up for the polls.

The meeting, which follows an earlier one held for the leadership of youth groupings of the political parties, was meant to identify the concerns of the various parties in terms of security.

In an open and free atmosphere, the participants identified and discussed their concerns and difficulties, and suggested some solutions to the police.

Issues such as media reportage, vigilante groups affiliated to political parties, late arrival of electoral materials, shortage of ballot papers, difficulties in identifying names of voters on the voters’ register, and invasion of polling stations by political functionaries, were discussed at the meeting.

The leadership of the NDC, represented mainly by the security committee members of the party – Captain Assasie Gyimah, Chairman; Commodore Steve Obimpeh, Member; the National Deputy Treasurer, Vida Addae and the National Deputy Organizer, Mahdi Muhammed Gibrill, assured the Police that their party is committed to a peaceful conduct of the polls, and that they would do everything within their power to promote that cause.
