Addressing the press on Thursday, the National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Sammy Awuku said they have won about 149 seats.
Sammy Awuku also expressed anger over the delay by the commission in announcing the results of Wednesday’s polls.
He explained that “this is the first time in 16 years in our democratic dispensation that election results have unduly delayed in this manner.”
He added that such actions create “suspicion [and] it creates unnecessary tension across the country adding that Ghanainas “deserve an explanation from the commission.”
The NPP had earlier urged president John Mahama to concede defeat because figures they have suggest that he has lost.
According to the NPP, figures of about 80 percent of the over 28,000 polling stations they have collated show that Akufo-Addo polled 54.91%. But both the NDC and the EC condemned the declaration.
