Source: starrfmonline. com - President John Mahama has conceded defeat in the 2016 elections and has called the opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo to congratulate him over his victory, press secretary Eugene Arhin confirms to Starrfmonline.com.

The 72-year-old polled 5,341,146 votes representing 53.51% in the 2016 elections to give him an edge over the ruling National Democratic Congress leader Mahama, who garnered 4,457,672 votes representing 44.66% of the total votes.

The Electoral Commission was expected to declare the official results of the presidential poll, which ended Wednesday at 5:00pm on Saturday.
