George Nenyi Andah who defeated the Foreign Affairs Minister in Wednesday's parliamentary election said his victory symbolises the trust and confidence of residents in his message.
He advised the Minister to understand her loss as the will of the people which is the will of God.
"It's time to work for the people," the marketing guru told Kojo Yankson, host of Joy FM Super Morning Show on the JOY NEWS channel on MultiTV Friday.
He commended his campaign team for their efforts adding "we always said the battle is the Lords and what we were doing was what God wanted us to do."
Sharing some secrets to his winning the seat, he said it was largely due to his campaign team believe in his leadership and vision as well as the ideology of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
"We were able to understand the issues of the electorate and what our competition have as their strength. Obviously what the competition said was to underestimate who we are and our strength."
Mr Andah polled 28,867 representing 62.72 percent of total valid votes cast as against the Foreign Affairs Minister who had 25,664 which is 49 percent.

According to him, the incumbent MP assumed that the electorate would believe the lies it told them on the campaign trail.
“They [NDC] went on with propaganda and lies and we stood with them [electorate] and by the truth. The youth wanted jobs and the people were aware that although there has been some infrastructural development done and being done the cost were inflated with no value for money," he said.
The voters in Awutu Senya West Mr Andah said believed in his leadership as well as remember what their lifestyle was under erstwhile Kufour administration stressing "they know and believe in what Nana is capable of doing."
He claimed that although he was frustrated by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in the course of Wednesday's elections, he is willing to unite all the residents in the constituency and work for the development of Awutu Senya West.
Mr Andah who is the former Communication Director of MTN Ghana thanked the people of his constituency for the honour done him by electing him to serve their interest.
