Straight to the Point. Old School network is one of the major avenues for corruption in Ghana!
 One Black African Boy in the midst of White English boys in 1960s...Epic! ...Picture of the Year... | Old BOYS...or Old GIRLS or Old Secondary School Associations are pain the Ghana's posterior. We have suffered from it. The last one was John Mahama's NDC Government, where the school mates of Ghana Secondary School and Tamale Secondary School teamed up to rob us to the last 'anini'. Before then it was John Agyekum Kufuor's mates who shared all the juicy positions in the last NPP Government. |
And prior to that the pompous Old Achimota Association with their half-castes and spoilt children who rewarded themselves with everything nice in Rawlings government. It never stops. The connections to the old school network stretch far and wide and have cost Ghana a huge fortune in corruptive practices. It is felt everywhere but it’s in government that weakens us.
One Old Boy becomes a Minister and award a contract to another mate, who goes to their mate in the Ministry or AESC to sign papers and take it to their banker friend and together they cream off and share 40% of the total cost of the government project to lead their posh lavish lifestyles. The rest of society won’t even know the Chairmen of the Church harvests are plain thieves, thanks to the Old Boys connections!
Of course, friendships in Universities are like acid. We do not really know each other except bouncing off one another in the Hallways. Was Afari Gyan not Akuffo Addo's roommate in Legon? Yet he took PNDC money to work against him. It's the SECONDARY SCHOOL one that counts most. We grew up with them in the Year Groups, House Mates or Whole School Networks that have even flourished on these many social media groups with all its Favouritism, Bias, Discrimination, Bribe and Corruption as the cornerstone of these relationships. Most of the corrupt practices in Ghana begin from the 'Whom you know' ties in the Courts, Banks, Ministries and Government...
But God being so good, Nana's real friends are these people in the Picture below. Nana has no OLD SCHOOL NETWORK in Ghana. His Old School Network is in England, United Kingdom of old. They cannot come and corrupt him, knowing these people in their advanced ages. They might be his staying power. His closest African Friend in the school, Hajj Mukhtarr Kablai Mustapha, is no more but the lot are far away from Ghana, maybe in various helpful positions.
I love it. Billy No Mates. In fact, sometimes Nana used to cut a lonely figure he was barracked and subjected to a most inhumane abuse that he was a junkie, but picture tells no lie. He was a clean living studious student and well prepared for this great job. He indeed went to the old Lancing College from Form One to Upper Six...and God should be glorified. It’s so sweet.
We know his followers have their Old School Networks and Associations but they will go to prison if they dare try their 'hanky panky' deals behind him. Obey the Master. No more Old School Network or Associations and its connections and fraud and CORRUPTION. Amen!
