Source: 3news. com - The Electoral Commission of Ghana says persons who wish to transfer their votes from one constituency to the other for the December polls can do that from Friday September 9, 2016 to Friday October 7, 2016.
The EC in a statement said “all registered voters who wish to transfer their votes from the polling station in the constituency where they registered to a different constituency where they wish to vote in the 2016 general elections, are required to visit the District Office of the Electoral Commission in the constituency WHERE THEY ARE NOW RESIDENT, to complete the vote transfer application form to be processed for the transfer.”

This follows a similar exercise the commission undertook for parliamentary nominees who wanted to transfer their votes from one constituency to the other.

The statement signed by Head of Communications at the Commission, Eric Kofi Dzakpasu further indicated that voters who wanted to transfer their votes

1. Must be a registered voter

2. Must be resident in the constituency other than that in which he / she registered for not less than 12 months

3. Should provide physical proof of his or her residence including the residential address.

“If successful, the voter shall be assigned to a new polling station in his/her new constituency of residence.”

Ghana goes to the polls on December 7, 2016.
