NDC members accuse Zanetor of forgery

Source: GhanaPoliticsOnlineCom - Some National Democratic Congress (NDC) members in the Klottey Korle Constituency have indicated that their names and signatures on the nomination forms submitted by Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings to the National Executives of the party for approval to contest last November’s NDC Parliamentary primaries were forged.
According to the aggrieved members of the Party who lodged a formal complaint at the Regional Police Station at Tudu last week, it has come to their attention that their names and signatures were on Ms. Rawlings’ nomination forms, but they did not sign the forms in question.

Pamela Noi, Nana Gyebi Adusei and Jeffrey Nii Yebuah Nortey have confirmed to Regional Commander Dampare that the signatures against their names were forged.

The others who include, William Luterodt and Samuel Kwaatelai Quartey, have also confirmed that they never signed the forms in question.

The complainants assert that they sent a Petition on the matter of their forged signatures to the Party’s Regional Executives before the voting day, but they were ignored.

Zanetor Rawlings, the first daughter of the founder of NDC, Jerry John Rawlings, contested the Klottey Korle NDC parliamentary primaries last year and has since been battling a court case challenging her qualification to have contested the election.

After two attempts to have the case thrown out of the High Court failed, she has referred the case to the Supreme Court to quash the ruling of the High Court, a move which legal experts say is clearly to buy time since they are yet to understand the basis of the process in light of the facts of the case.

It is widely believed that the attempt to delay final judgment of this case is for Zanetor to be able to register during the upcoming limited registration exercise, even though the consensus among the legal fraternity is that her registration will not in any way affect the case in question since the circumstances pertaining at the time of the vetting are those that count.

It is rumoured that big wigs are attempting to intervene to block the investigations into the forged signatures from taking place.
